Olá, pessoal!
Sou Luiz Lucena e faço licenciatura em Letras (licenciatura em línguas portuguesa e inglesa e bacharelado com ênfase em tradução de língua inglesa) na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Comecei a estudar línguas estrangeiras desde meus 15 (quinze) anos de idade. A primeira foi o inglês, em seguida veio o italiano e, depois, muitas outras (algumas eu continuei aprendendo, e por outras eu perdi o interesse). Meu amigo Zack Snider, atualmente em intercâmbio acadêmico no Uruguai, é estudante de espanhol e português na Winston-Salem State University, onde o conheci durante meu período de intercâmbio na Carolina do Norte (EUA). Devido ao fato de ele ter aprendido português em poucos meses e também por ter um ótimo nível em espanhol, ou seja, visto que ele já tem uma grande experiência na aprendizagem de línguas, vai me ajudar a compartilhar nossas dicas e estratégias de aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras, o que deu e o que não deu certo ao longo de nossas trajetórias de aprendizagem, técnicas que estamos testando etc. De antemão, queremos deixar bem claro que não somos os detentores da "verdade" e que o que escreveremos nesse blog seja a única forma de se aprender línguas estrangeiras. Ao nosso ver, não existe método ou metodologia perfeita; o aluno é quem tem que descobrir quais estratégias mais lhe agradam, quais ele acha serem eficientes e quais não se adequam ao seu estilo de aprendizagem. Junte-se a nós nessa incessante jornada que é aprender línguas estrangeiras.

Hey everybody!
I am Luiz Lucena and I study Literature
Arts (bachelor’s degree in Portuguese and English, and a baccalaureate with an
emphasis in English language translation) in the Federal University of
Pernambuco. I began studying foreign languages when I was fifteen years old.
The first foreign language that I studied was English, second was Italian, and
then many more (some I continue to learn, and in others I lost interest). My
friend Zack Snider is currently studying in an academic exchange in Uruguay, he
is a student of Spanish and Portuguese at Winston-Salem State University, where
I met him during my academic exchange in North Carolina, USA. Due to the fact
that he learned Portuguese in a few months and also has an excellent level in
Spanish, that is, seeing that he already has a lot of experience in learning
languages, he is going to help me share advice and strategies in learning
foreign languages, what worked and what didn’t work along the way, and
techniques that we are testing, etc. Beforehand, we want to make clear that we
are not the final authorities of language learning, and that what we write in
the blog is not the only way to learn foreign languages. The way we see it, the
perfect method or technique does not exist; the student is who has to discover
which strategies suit him best, which he thinks will be useful, and which ones
will not meet his needs.
